Tumbling & Acro Classes

Ages 3 - 17

At Art in Motion School of Dance we offer tumbling and acro classes based on the trusted Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, which our acro teachers have been trained and certified in. The program is based on safe and effective progressions within five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Acrobatic Arts includes 12 Levels of Syllabus, which take up to 36 weeks to complete each level. Simple, thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and somersault to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!

What Is Acro Dance & Why Acro?

Students wishing to enhance their current training choose to take an Acro Dance class. Acro complements many dance forms and enhances an individual’s technique/flexibility. Acro Dance works hand in hand with Jazz and Ballet, which is why we recommend these supplementary classes after Level One. Each year there is an increased amount of acro movements in dance choreography. From hip-hop to jazz and contemporary, we see acro elements incorporated into routines. We offer acro classes so that our dancers can learn these skills in a safe manner.
